A beautiful place which is nice for a half day outing with family. Weekends may get slightly crowded. Weekdays are almost empty. Their kottavanji boating is recommended. Near the boating area, there is a small cafeteria serving tea/icecream/cold drinks. The final 10kms to the dam is pretty scenic with excellent quality road. We can see rubber estates throughout and it is a good place to halt for some nice pics.

Visiting her early morning, can be quite relaxing and peaceful, as it becomes crowded afternoon, it's pretty quite place to stay close to nature and spend some quality time, well you are out of most network providers range, but they do have a WiFi at the canteen near dam and use that in case of emergency

A usual dam site with nothing to experience. Positive: Really loved the drive thorugh forest ,rubber plantations. When the spillway is open it's an amazing view. Negative: ₹20 for adult ₹100 for car parking Not at all worthy. You can just see the dam and take a walk ,nothing to see or enjoy your day. The washrooms are pathetic and there is no staff to guide you.

It’s a medium sized dam under KErala state electricity board. It an earth dam. There is a tourist place attached to this dam. A butterfly park is also there. Elephants are very regular here. Most of the time we can see spotted deers also in the road. There is a forest Checkpost in the way we’re we have to give a nominal entry fee. There’s is a parking ground nearby the dam. Bird photographers can spend a day to get some good bird and elephant clicks.
